The Art of Note Writing
“You must give some time to your fellow man. Even if it’s a little thing, do something for which you get not pay but the privilege of doing it.” - Albert Schweister I just shared this concept yesterday with a friend and then again at the dinner table with my family. I was telling them about the lost art of note writing. Note writing meaning sending someone a note of encouragement or thanks. I’m talking about a hand written note! You would be amazed at the bridge it will build between you and the other person.
I was telling this person and my family, that in this world we live in people are starved for encouragement and that if we can just be a small light in the world it makes mountains of difference. To you it may be a $2.50 card and 5 minutes of your time, but to someone dieing of thirst in the desert it’s a life line.

Start a Movement
Start a Movement
I tell my kids the same 7 things every morning hoping that some day they will stick. One of the things I tell them is, “Encourage Everyone!” Then I ask them why do you think we should encourage other people? By now they know the answer, which is, “Because everyone needs encouragement and when we encourage others it also encourages us.” Below is a picture of a text between my wife and I. It’s amazing how some of the little things we do can greatly bless others, bless us and bless many people to follow. Read the text.
So a movement is started. My wife blesses the person behind her and in turn that person is encourage, and maybe they go on to bless someone else. But the movement doesn’t stop there. What about the witness to this event? The drive through attendant. They get to have a front row seat to this event and also get to participate. Kindness spreads. How encouraged are they in helping with this, its almost like a blessing side effect. A movement is started.
My Encouragement for the day, “Start a Movement” you’ll never know whose life it will change.

Leadership Finish Line
Message from the Black Chair on Leadership.
The Bunt
The Bunt
Most people go through life bunting. Never willing to take the risk to swing the bat. Unfortunately life is a risk. A calculated risk. We can do all the research, all the training, but at some point we have to swing. Preparedness is a key to success, but without action you are just wasting air.
My encouragement toady is: Get out there, step out! What’s the worst that could happen you swing and miss? Dust off and go again. Failure is never final unless you let it. Most men are measured by how high they bonce after hitting bottom.
You can do it! Today is your VICTORY DAY!!!

Choices
There are two primary choices in life:
To accept conditions as they exist
or
Accept the responsibility for changing them.
